Working remotely during a worldschooling month in Goa

By Amanda Ashworth, founder of Worldschooling Hub Goa

The Hub's shared coworking room with desks and bookshelves

A productive morning, lunch with your children and a conversation with another parent can all belong in the same month. Working from Goa offers a change of setting and a family community around you, with time to enjoy the place you have travelled to.

The Hub combines morning programmes with shared coworking for Community and Activity Pass holders. Start with the hours your work needs, then build a family routine that leaves space for friendships, outings and rest.

Protect your important work

List fixed meetings, deadlines and large uploads. Check time differences and your employer’s or clients’ requirements for working abroad, including security and access. Add any fixed online lessons your children need.

Programme hours are Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 1pm. Excursion mornings have varying timings and meeting points, so keep important calls away from those mornings where possible and ask about current plans. Parents remain responsible outside supervised sessions; arrange afternoon care within your family or separately.

Settle into the coworking room

The shared coworking room is open 24/7 to pass holders. Bring your laptop and headphones. There are no private call booths, so discuss your needs before booking if confidential calls or a particular quiet setting are essential.

Choose a few focused tasks for the morning and allow time for collection and lunch. If you stay offsite, include the journey to and from the Hub in your day. Agree who is with the children whenever adults are working outside programme hours.

Check internet and power

The Hub has backup power. A November 2026 speed test measured 216.7 Mbps download, 46.2 Mbps upload and 32 ms latency. This is a snapshot: speeds vary with the time of day and the number of people online.

Ask about current connectivity if video calls or uploads are central to your work. Check your mobile arrangements before travelling and make a contingency plan for essential meetings. The team and family handbook can help with local SIM-card information.

Make this your month too

You are part of the community as a parent, with your own friendships and experiences. Chai and chat, skill sharing and group wellbeing sessions give you ways to spend time with the people alongside you. Previous cohorts included yoga, breathwork, sound sessions and circles.

The Community and Activity Pass includes scheduled adult and family sessions and outings, the recovery and nervous system lounge and shared facilities. Transport and personal one-to-one sessions are paid separately. Talk with the team about any health considerations before joining wellbeing activities.

Leave room for family life

Optional afternoon activities, independent study and work may compete for time. Agree priorities together, especially if two adults are working. Keep some time open for the beach, a shared game or a quieter afternoon. A manageable routine helps everyone enjoy being here.
