About us

About Worldschooling Hub Goa

Worldschooling Hub Goa is a family-run learning community in Lolen, South Goa, founded by Amanda Ashworth. We created it for families who love the freedom of travelling and home educating, but miss having a village around them. Our four-week cohorts bring children, teens and parents together, with qualified teachers, facilitators and local staff supporting everyday life at the Hub.

Our story

Why we built a village for travelling families

We are a multicultural, blended family whose experience of homeschooling and worldschooling shaped the Hub. Originally from the UK, we moved to Dubai in 2022. Together we have travelled to more than 40 countries, with our children joining us on most of those journeys.

Goa became our happy place. We loved discovering new places with our children, but we also understood what it meant to start again: finding friends, planning the days and missing the ease of familiar people nearby. Visiting other hubs inspired us to create a slower-paced base where families could spend a month alongside one another, surrounded by nature and animals.

For us, that village is in the everyday moments. Children looking forward to seeing the same faces. A conversation over chai that carries on the next day. Parents joining a session for themselves, not just organising activities for their children. Shared games, family outings and cultural experiences give us things to do together, with room for each family to find its own rhythm.

Amanda brings more than 20 years of experience in business and events, and works as a business and life coach. Her care for community building is at the heart of Worldschooling Hub Goa.

Meet the team

The people you will meet

The children's and teen programmes are delivered by qualified teachers and facilitators. Teachers lead group learning, while facilitators bring relevant experience to particular sessions such as art, music, movement or outings. Founders and the property manager also look after the day-to-day running of the Hub and its setting. Our local staff are paid members of the team, not volunteers.

Our staff undergo police checks and reference checks, with roles matched to relevant experience. Read how we select staff.

Everyone is welcome

Neurodivergent children and families

We welcome neurodivergent children and families and recognise that people learn, communicate and take part in different ways.

Our qualified teachers and facilitators work with children in a group setting. We cannot provide dedicated one-to-one support.

Please talk to us before booking about what helps your child participate and any support they need, so we can discuss together whether the group programme is a good fit.

Before booking, read is the Hub right for your family? It covers academics, allergies, childcare, communal living, our dogs and how activities vary.
