Plan your stay
Planning your family worldschooling stay in Goa
For many families, a cohort at the Hub is their first time in India. This page sets out how we can help and what to arrange yourselves.
We can help with practical arrangements, but some services are paid for separately and we cannot arrange or guarantee visas.

How we help
Practical support before and after you arrive
- Family handbook
- Before you arrive we send a handbook with local information: shops, doctors, beaches, places to eat and what to pack.
- Airport transfers and vehicles
- We can help you arrange a transfer from the airport and, if you need one, a car or scooter for your stay. These are paid for separately.
- Local accommodation
- If you are staying offsite, we can suggest trusted local providers of villas and apartments near the Hub. Larger families can also ask about our two-bedroom house 400 metres from the hub.
- SIM cards and getting around
- Ask us about local SIM cards, taxis and rickshaws, and how other families have managed day to day.

- Talk to us before booking about serious allergies, a fear of dogs or anything that would help your children settle; we can go through it on a call.
- Plan your children's formal education alongside the programme, if they follow one.

Health
Healthcare near the Hub
Local public healthcare is available at the Community Health Centre (CHC) Canacona in Sheller, Canacona. For a wider range of services, South Goa District Hospital in Margao is the larger government hospital for the district and lists emergency services among its departments.
Which specialists are available, and when, varies. Some specialist care may mean travelling further, so do not assume a particular service will be available locally.
Our team can share local contact information when you arrive, but we are not a medical service and cannot replace emergency or medical care.
Before you travel
- Arrange travel and medical insurance that suits your family and covers your whole stay.
- Bring enough of any prescription medicines, with copies of the prescriptions.
- Discuss any ongoing health needs with your own doctor or care providers before you travel.
- Check current contact details and services on the official directories below, rather than relying on numbers shared informally.
Official directories
- Community Health Centre Canacona (Directorate of Health Services, Goa)
